    Wisp sat amid the snow and stone of the mountains just outside Onni’s border, in an small outcropping that watched over her packs lands, the lake, even the old territory that was still scarred by the fires that seemed so long ago now.

    Before her stood little more then large stone, one that to many would be unremarkable but to Wisp is meant everything. Lifting her paw, she gently wiping the snow off to reveal the real importance. A now faded pair of pawprints. Hers and Malakai’s.

    Her heart clenched painfully at the sight. She vividly remembered the day they made those prints. After she had told him of the pledges that those in Onni could take. Of the cave where every member bares their mark. He had been young then, a bit too young to fully understand the commitment. So instead, she gathered some berries, and led Malakai up the mountain, where together they made their own pledge. One of hope and love. Now that all seemed lost. Her son was gone, and the prints served as little more then a memorial.
