Description
This piece was done the night before the art show, and came out pretty nicely in my opinion. I took an older piece I had lying around and painted over it with gesso, ink, and acrylics to create this whore of the media. The overall size is 2x4 feetInspired by Entitie's and my conversation on my tshirts, the word media whore was tossed around and it kind of stuck with me.
Kind of a stab at those who watch tv to get their fix, and how even though many say they are disgusted by what they see on tv, they secretly crave the death, famine, war, infidelity, and "reality" captured on the tube. Because we love to see human suffering, as long as it is not us who are doing the suffering. We're all whores in some way

It's a lot more 'direct' in manner of statement than your other works, but it might as well have been.

My cat is a whore. . . but that's beside the point. I rarely watch tv anymore, simply for the fact that it's CRAP! And I dont even listen to most new music anymore. . . simply for the reason that it's CRAP!

That's the only way TV shows work - the main characters have a problem that they fix. Some just watch to laugh at the problems - I find that annoying.
It's a very powerful message, and part of the reason why I stick to plain colored shirts instead of labeled ones. ^^

Dude, I love the theme/idea behind this piece.
The look of the piece is pretty simplistic, though I'm not so keen on the lack of colour. Then again, I'm a colour whore to be honest, but then again, I'm not the one that's painted this piece.

Thanks for the comps. I actually worked on it some more last night because I wasn't feeling the words style, so instead the focus will be the being itself. As for color, I tend to lean more towards monochromatic themes but really just depends on what I feel like doing at that moment. I try not to stick to one style (hence the blossum pieces) so that I never have to worry about keeping up a certain look. More freedom that way.

That's fair play mate. After all, it's your way of expressing yourself, so I'm not gonna try and change that. I just thought I'd share my opinion.
As for the words, I feel that they help in some ways. Although reducing the amount of lettering on the piece, some key words may be left in to help the theme along. Again, this is from my viewpoint only.
