I used markers for the two Alices, then paint for everything else...NO Photoshop.

I just finished reading a book called 'Alice I have Been' and its about the real life Alice Liddell and her life from 7 to 80 (when she died), and the struggles she went through coming to terms with Alice in Wonderland and her past histories.
This picture reminds me of Alice I have Been because everyone she met after the book was written and published, thought she was a little blonde girl in a pretty dress.

Oh that one! I know some woman named Mary wrote that, but yeah now that I look at the cover of the book, it does seem to have the same sort of inspirations...That author and I were probably thinking along the same line.
Instead they all find out Alice is a girl with strait, dark, short hair in an extra pretty dress with long sleeves and the dress looks very light....yup yup. Although when she's older she does get much longer hair...still straight.
I might get this book and read it.

What would they think?
I'm certain they would be more so shocked at the allegations of Dodgson f being a pedophile, then the Japanese obssesion with Alice, McGee's Alice, and people making her into some stupid child and some others even a slutty one.
Because the real Alice was really quite intelligent and boy, would she be thinking quite a lot of things.

her relationship with Dodgson is the undertone of the whole book...its very subtle and is hidden in the words. Buuuut most of it is rumor (of course) like no one knows what really happened, apparently, so the events of those particular rumors in the book are basically made up, but are inspired by the rumors.
I agree with you about what they'd think though. Generations have turned it into something different.

Yeah, her relationship with Dodgson is the biggest rumor in our modern culture, but during her time, it was her relationship with the Prince that gave the greatest rumor considering she named one of her sons after the Prince and the Prince named his daughter after her.... yeah that made the rumors even worse.
Being distantly related to the Queen, she definitely had to have a relationship with the prince...whether it's romantic or not....who knows.
That's why I'm going to do a picture of a very sexual Alice (older but still in the younger dress) with a prince going into the oo lala, but it's the man I'm going to emphasize, because everyone pairs her up with the hatter. The hatter (like almost everyone else in the alice books) was based off a person that Dodgson actually knew...more specifically a MUCH older man.
I'm making her pair the Prince.

I don't think that he was in love with Alice until she was old enough to look like a woman in which case she had plenty of suitors besides himself.
But yes...because of the Dodgson rumors, the family wouldn't let him visit anymore.
I still will never like the hatter...I just don't like it all that much.

I was unaware about the yellow dress. Interesting, really everything you mentioned in your description. And beautiful artwork here.

Too bad we don't know what Alice Liddell thought of it or if she really solved it, especially after her little sister died.
