My entry for 's Resident Evil Romance contest!
Of course, I decided to draw my favourite couple

It's cold in the Antarctic! But Claire and Steve are too dumb to find coats to warm themselves up! So, when Steve notices that Claire is on the verge of dying from hypothermia, he made a gentleman of himself and placed his vest on her shoulders.
Little did he expect that the brunette would show her gratitude by giving him a kiss!

It was cold, unbearably cold! So much so it was crime against nature. Umbrella sure picked the craziest of places to build their facilities. First the sewers, then an island in the middle of the ocean and now here? That company definitely needed to get their head screwed on right, if blown off altogether for all the horrible things they’d done against humanity!
“Hrm! W-Why does the Antarctic have to be so cold!”
A few steps ahead of her, Steve stopped and lowered his luger with the look of stupidity.
“Cause it’s the…Antarctic maybe?” He remarked, though intended it as a joke, Claire was too focused on keeping warm to really care about it. What was she thinking, breaking into that Paris lab in just jeans and a leather vest and her wee boots? No wonder they hadn’t been fooled by her being a worker there, she might as well of wore a target sheet with the words ‘I’m a spy, shoot me’ written all over it.
But enough about her being idiot, it was freezing and weren’t even outside. God knows what it was like out there. How were they going to get out of here?
“W-Whatever, w-we need to, need to find some coats or something!” Claire chattered between her teeth as she struggled to hold her gun out straight. It was shaking so much that if a zombie had stumbled right out in front of her and against the barrel, she still would’ve missed.
“Maybe you shouldn’t have packed so light, then” Steve said as scanned the corridor for any movement, since monsters always had a habit of leaping out unexpectedly nowadays…
“Oh shut up,” Claire whined, rubbing her arms for warmth as she observed the teenager and was puzzled to see not a shiver creep up or down his body, “Why aren’t you freezing your butt off? Aren’t you cold?”
Steve shook his head to this, though he kept eyes ahead.
“Not really…I live up north so...”
“…Right.”
Great, next he was going to tell her that he went ice fishing and sailed on the Titanic. How come everyone else was immune to the cold except her? Lucky guy...
“S-So, mind telling me your secret?” Claire asked as they carried on their way, and entered into some room where they handled transporting large items perhaps. Claire couldn’t make heads or tails of any of it with her brain nearly reduced to an icicle.
“There’s nothing to it, really…” Steve replied, lagging behind, something Claire failed to notice since she was too busy looking around the place for something to keep her warm. Her eyes had been on the pile of cardboards, where she’d been thinking about setting them alight with her lighter to start a camp fire.
Claire might’ve too, but then she’d heard a sigh behind her and something was dropped on her shoulders and immediately restored some heat to her body.
“Here, take it.”
And when she looked, it was none after than the prisoner’s jacket.
“No, Steve-” Claire said trying to hand the jacket back to him, but Steve would have none of it.
“Nah, I’m good…you needed more than me,” he told her and motioned to her with the luger, “besides if you go and turn ice cube on me, I have to kick myself for having to drag your cute ass out of here.”
“Steve…”
Okay he was a little childish but he could be a man of gold when he wanted to, and a little charming. So eventually but unwillingly agreeing to it, Claire put the jacket on to save herself from freezing to death…it stunk a little bit of B.O, but hey, it was nice a smell considering things. Nothing could top the stench of the dead.
“I should thank you, ” Claire came out with, though didn’t really know how.
“Heh, how bout a date?” Steve suggested with a hopeful look on his face that told her he was not joking around. But something about his smile caught her that Claire soon found herself doing the same, if with intentions in mind.
“Actually, I got something better…”
And before Steve could even ask what, Claire had closed the gap between them and in a spur of the moment action she stood up on her toes and gave a quick kiss to his cheek. And when she stepped back, Claire was sure they glowed brighter than they previously.
Let’s just say Burnside was left lost for words.
“Well er,” Steve finally uttered out, rubbing the back of his neck, “Still up for a date?”
Claire thought about it for a moment, then gave a teasing wink.
“When we get out of here…we’ll see.”

Oh he looks quite timid there, is very cute. Definitely has that sort of boyish charm he had in code veronica. The fact she has his jacket is totally adorable as well.
