Made an updated ref for Righteous. I didn't realize that he's doing like, the exact same pose as Rosemary but it's fine. I'm still in the process of designing his armor but yeah.

Physical traits

Righteous is pretty lanky, even for a skeleton, despite not being very tall. He looks a lot bulkier when he wears his armor. Due to his green soul and eye color, his bones are tinted green. Coincidentally, it's also his favorite color. He's a lot stronger than he looks due to his Royal Guard training. He speaks in the font "Righteous" and like Sans, it's all lowercase.

Personality

He's a pretty chill guy, and he is definitely not one to anger easily. He's more likely to get stressed and frustrated, but he's never actually mad. Righteous is what you would describe as a "hipster", although due to the small town nature of the Underground, it's kinda hard to be one. He'll find anime at the dump and watch it, and then lend it to Alphys or Undyne. He's got kind of "refined" tastes and can come across as a bit condescending when talking about things he knows a lot about. He tries not to be, though. He's not one to get into conflict, but he will protect his loved ones or heck, even someone he doesn't know without hesitation. Even if it means risking his own life. He is a Royal Guard after all. He likes cracking jokes, but half the time they're so obscure nobody knows that he's talking about.

Relationships

Righteous considers himself pretty good friends with Undyne. They were really close in grade school, kinda drifted apart in high school, but came back together after Righteous decided to join the Royal Guard. The two frequent parties together and they hang out and spar when they can. He knows of Alphys as well, but he's not that close. He's also Rosemary's boyfriend. The two met when he was assigned to train her to become a sentry in Waterfall. He also is friend with the Temmies, and if he needs to unwind he'll just sit in the village and paint. He finds them rather cute.

Fighting Style and Magic Abilities

Righteous is capable of general skeleton abilities, such as bone magic. He has a sword which functions similar to a light saber. When not in use, the sword just looks like a bone, but when activated, the bone grows a transparent green blade and functions as a hilt. He can use blue magic, but he's not as good at it as he's focusing on green magic instead. He's more of a defense guy and is the tank/paladin of the Royal Guard. He's very good at healing magic and can heal anything from minor cuts and scrapes to full on gaping wounds (although the latter takes much more time and energy to heal).

Backstory

Righteous grew up in New Home as an only kid. He always admired Asgore and the Royal Guard and it wasn't much of a surprise that he eventually joined it. When he met Undyne, the two bonded over their desire to join the Guard and the two were kind of partners in crime.
When the two were in 8th grade, there was a kid who would constantly tease them. Undyne got fed up eventually and got sick of Righteous trying to get her to ignore it. Eventually she convinced him to help her teach the kid a lesson. They met the kid after school and got into a fight, but it was absolutely no contest and Righteous and Undyne beat the heck out of the kid and his cronies. Righteous immediately regretted his actions and was mad at Undyne for convincing him to do it. That's when the two drifted apart and Righteous vowed that he wouldn't hurt someone unless absolutely necessary. The two eventually made up a few years later, though.

Righteous lives in an apartment in New Home, but he's thought of moving to Waterfall on multiple occasions so he can be closer to Rosemary. He patrols New Home when he's on sentry duty, and he command most of the soldiers there, although Undyne has the final say, as she is the captain of the Royal Guard.
