The off-world settled Komi people, called Zyryans by the Russians, formed their own Komi ASSR were on a partly frozen world around 806,199 Komi people had been settled. Originally founded in 1922 to the Komi-Zyryan Autonomous Oblast, which ultimately became the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR) in 1936 after the founding of the Soviet Union. Besides these Komi/ Zysyans Stalin also forced many criminals and prisoners of war onto the world, making it one of the hellish Gulag planets under his rule. Never inhabited by the Goa’uld as even Jaffa froze quickly, modern Soviet housing and clothes made this less severe and Stalin did care little if his local workers survived as long as the quota was meet. Therefore first mines were opened to help build up local camps who then turned into towns with aid of the forced labor send to the world. These were quickly expanded into cities whenever possible and between them roads, railways and bridges were created to increase the speed of successor transports and tributes back to Russia. This way all major cities of the world were secretly build by the local prisoners and forcefully relocated Komi. Despite it’s name however the Komi had no true internal autonomy and self-government, as Russian Soviet adviser and governer took care of most matters regarding external diplomacy, trade and defenses alike. Not many Komi/ Zyryans were angry about that, as the cold, rocky tundra of the world meant they had many other things to worry about then politics or who made the most important decisions on their world. Farmland was sparse however and overall the planet would not rise above 1.21 million overall inhabitants later on. The local Komi themselves were divided into their ethnic minor groups and clans, that like on Earth followed the tradition of along which river, lake and sea they lived, were the local Komi often shared certain traditions, clothing and architectural styles much more then they already did overall. Some of this Komi groups also had na increased activity of their local branches of the Russian Orthodox Church and Shamanism, much to Stalin’s dismay, who tried to crack down hard on them and instead tried to promote his own personal cult.

The Komi actually brought raindeer with them to the world, but also quickly learned to domesticate some of the local animals to traverse and survive in the tundra world, much to the dismay of Stalin who wished them to become less nomadic and use modern machinery and industries in urban settlements instead of their old nomadic ways of human and animal labor alone. Lumber was a major resource on their new world, but so limited that they Komi/ Zyryans could only use it for their towns and later went on to use stone, cement and concrete to build the bigger cities of their world and to also make them last longer in this devastating natural climate. According to Soviet scientists the world was actually located in a more habitable zone that should be warmer, but also laying in a local dust cloud or nebula that drastically limited the overall sunshine and warmth truly arriving at the planet. Soviet archaeologists later found out that this had not always been the chase and once the planet must have been much warmer, with more climate and biodiversity overall, but remnants of a battle between the Asgard and the Goa’uld seamed to have lead to the destruction of a massive nearby sister world, or moon, whose dusty remnants now clouded much of the system. This shocked Stalin massively, as it was one thing to blow up a whole planet to chunks of asteroids, comets and meteoroids, but a whole other to do so on a level that not much more then stardust remained. Overall five major cities or towns would be created on the world, with many located near the mines and the main harbors for river, ocean, or space trade and transport. The capital Komia/ Zyryansa however was located in between the trade connection and center of them all, with the Stargate being brought to it, a local administration being build and the local Red Army having their biggest garrison in the capital central Kremlin fortification that made up the majority of the worlds defenses against Goa’uld Jaffa scouting and attacks trough the Stargate itself. Remnants of an early Goa’uld settlement that had not survived also made the Soviet confident that Komi/ Zyryan would not often be visited, scouted or even thought about any longer by them.
