While in modern times the Tegalan on Tegalus had reached a technological level similar to the 1940ies in America, Europe, or on Earth in general, the time of their shared history under the Greek/ Hellenic Goa’uld Cronus/ Kronos and later the Celtic Goa’uld Camulus/ Camulos was long gone for the 5,000,000 modern Tegalan this mattered little, as overall the radical differences between the modern Caledonian Federation and the Rand Protectorate between the superpowers on Tegalus, or P5C-982 as the Tau’ri would name it in most dimensions and realities. Over time the rivalry, border disputes, skirmishes and cold war between the Caledonian Confederation and the Rand Protectorate, the border region, which mostly overlapped with the former Camulus Wall which separated his original truly colonized and held regions against the barbarian lands of escaped slaves, sinners and rebels. The tale that the Ring of Avidan had been activated and strange silver knights, looking like the followers of the old gods and people living in the ancient cultures and societies of Tegalus had ignited the followers of such cults and sects, still believing in them, like the Teampul Fàinne/ Geata (Ring Temple/ Gate Temple/ Temple of the Ring/ Tempel of the Gate/ Stargate Temple), Cartùche Sect (Cartouche Sect), Seilg Chult (Chevron Cult) and others. At the same time the civil unrest in the cities, towns and countrysite coming from such radical groups, or overall frigthened citizens listening in to these rumors of alien invasions, returning gods, or simply the end of times and days caused even further confusion, anarchy and chaos all across Tegalus. Nowhere could that be felt more, then in the militarized and disputed border regions, were the majority of 480,00 Rand soldiers and 570,000 Caledonian soldiers, mostly infantry, some with vehicles, even armored ones, air forces and a total of 160 intercontinental rockets both superpowers possessed in total.
