I loved the shot - hey - the photo arrived today - thanks so much. And you know what? I had some bad news today - my implant failed today - and then the kingfisher came and brightened me up

No - it's not in the journals. I have a cochlear implant - I'm totally deaf. I should probably write a journal about it so people know LOL

Ohh I am so sorry about your implant not working drat it!! That is a lot of stress! I have a story of my own..we will have to catch up with each other.. perhaps in e-mail or notes

I think your journal is a great idea... because you are incredible and you never let your differences become an obstacle to your greatness!!

I will tell you one lil story... I am a musician..played long time.. crowds of 10s and crowds of thousands.. but my absolute..ABSOLUTE best "gig" I ever had..was when my hsband and I were jamming (years ago) on the beach with our guitars..we liked freaking out the kids..and these limos showed up..5-6 limos...and all these teens came pouring out..well we kept singing..and they rocked out like nobody's business...I mean hard...they were jamming..and then when the song was done..they all started signing to each other..ohhh it was sooo wonderful...and they asked us to continue and we did..for ages it seemed...we were heard for the sounds and vibrations BUT we were in competition with the ocean...so I knew..they felt/heard..much much more... they had the power to hear the soul....and that is what I had wanted in all my years of the music biz I have a special fondness for the deaf..they hear me!!

I'm also a muscian - I played the piano in nightclubs as the inbetweener of a jazz band. I was devastated when my hearing really started disappearing on me in my mid twentiess, and when I lost it all at 31. Implanted, and I bought a piano again after 15 years of not playing. It's still really difficult to hera it but I do play. Just pissed off that I could'nt do it professionally any more which was my dream.

As a deaf person though - I never lost the beat, and we can pick up on vibratoions especially rhythm which I still love. Many deaf people are very good dancers too. I personally can dance to music forever. Party animal I once was LOL
