Big comeback of older base I did only two adopts on (also myths!).
These two were intended to be finished in march or april but I didn't had enough time to work on them and decided to post them on Halloween. This also didn't worked out as I was in hospital and I had to push it for later date. But with that I also had time to work more on them and add lots of things that wasn't initially planned, so I call it a win c:
So who are those two secati you might ask?
Both of them are very, VERY loosely inspired by deities from pagan slavic beliefs - Marzanna and Jaryło (Morana and Yarilo). Some of you might already know that I'm not really comfortable with using characters from myths or beliefs of cultures I don't know much about or I know, but I don't want to portray them as something they are not. In this case I wanted to make something of my own culture, culture I know and I want more people to get interested in. In short - both of those deities are gods of vegetation and of nature, assured abundance, fertility and blessing to the earth. While Morana is aspect of nature dying for winter, Jaryło was portrayed as the new life at spring. I recommend reading more about them on internet - there are a lot of interesting pagan gods in our culture that are still well known around here and celebrated in one way or another.
About the designs itself, I wanted them to be special in some way. Marzanna is a god of death and rebirth of nature. In Polish tradition means that when spring comes, people will make effigy from straws, rags and colorful ribbons to burn it and then throw to water to assure that winter is dead and won't come back till next year (check "Jare Święto" or "Drowning of Marzanna"). I loosely portrayed this idea by creating Secati made of never melting ice, ornated by golden branches and blood ribbons. It's neither bad or evil deity, just symbol of inevitable and never-ending cycle of life.
Second inspiration is lesser known deity - Jaryło, the god of vegetation, fertility and springtime, often portrayed as handsome man wearing flower crown, holding mans head in one hand and sheaf of wheat in another while riding on a white horse.
Sometimes this deity is portrayed in direct sunlight with rainbow halo, and the feather/bird aspect in this design is a direct reference to a swallow which symbolises spring.

1. Blessing Of Rebirth

Both feared and admired, this secati is called a Blood God or Frozen Witch. They have unique magic they can use to bring health upon sick, but in order to do that, they must first absorb life energy from other living creatures or plants. They cannot directly kill anyone with that power, but some say, they bring more bad than good with it.

Magic manifestation (This secati can absorb life energy from the plants and other living creatures around them. All will wither, but never die. This power is not meant to kill anyone and the energy can be transferred to others who need it the most. Their power manifests as blood droplets and halo and can only be used during the night and have to recover at least for a week after using it for one day extensively.) - Myth

Some call them the Personification Of Spring, others God Of Life or Rainbow Blessing. Their unique power allows them to boost growth of plants or heal them from any sickness or pests, so indeed, for simple people they might look like a godly creature.
