Description

Yep. From Little Mermaid, Disney. S1E1. I love Flounder. And the orca calf is so adorable I had to draw him. Them both. I have a soft spot (no pun intended) for cuteness.

I wish the show was easier to find. Disney is as usual, like "hey! If you're poor you have no right to enjoy our 26 year old stuff! Pay up or scram!". Still, even knowing that, many of us dreamed to becoming Disney animators, didn't we? I mean all the cartoonists inspired 30 years ago by all that animation that still isn't matched. It was made poorly but it was enough to see how awesome it was. Today... I can't name a single cartoon that would be the level of Disney XX century (level, not quality, the modern quality is fine). The legendary evil and the legendary good. Everything has a price, to gain something you must lose something of equal value. It's the principle of equivalent exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one and only truth...

This episode was one of my faves! My ultimate favorite was "Stormy the Wild Seahorse"! Anyway, the composition here is great and I admire the detail and sense of motion within it!

The composition of this piece is great and I love how you portrayed their dynamic. I have never even seen Spot, but I can sort of imagine what he's like by looking at this. Just curious, do you own a copy of The Animator's Survival Kit?

Thanks! ^__^ I don't know what this kit is. Is it a book? I have Preston Blair and Ken Hultgren, by huge luck. Other than that, I don't have access to many animation guide books.

It considered THEΒ definitive book on animation. ItΒ is an absolute must-have for any aspiring animator or cartoonist. It is an incredibly useful resource and I highly recommend it.

Wait, Little Mermaid had a TV show?

I guess Disney was a thing for me when I was a kid, but now that I grew up, I think it's a bit of lying... no. It's SHAMELESS lying to the young audience about all that stuff about good and evil. |D that's why I love Steven Universe so much as a show that isn't afraid to show the world as countless shades of grey and everyone having their own flaws, feelings and motivations
