EDIT: It would be nice if you could visually show the spectrums on a hue cube, and not just dots. It makes it easier to see and visualize, especially since a lot of people use a hue cube for color picking. Thank you so much!

Two minutes reading through this guide taught me more about Saturation and desaturation then a 40 minute long video lecture on youtube did.
Thank you very much for making this so easy to understand.

it is great, thanks, but i still find it hard to understand
TONES, and its difference between saturation... Especially neutral
tones... Is it a saturation of one specific warm or cool tone?
or is it a whole big group of saturation of neutral tones?
And in the next tutorial you mention that you have to
choose the group of colours when painting,
but they still have tones-warm and cool, so you still
may use the colour that is not in your chosen group?

Saturation is not specific to warm or cool, in fact it can be any colour. Saturation is simply how "intense" the colour is, or its purest form.
What I mean when you should choose a group of colours when painting, I simple mean to pick a colour scheme and stick to it - of course you can break any of these "rules" because they aren't actually a rule. It's just a guideline.

ohhh just how intense, so it applies to black and white too?
i love your tutorial, i like that they are some guidelines, something like a "rule" that you can follow and that can help you to paint something "correct".

Well black and white aren't technically colours, they are shades. Black is the absence of all light and therefore had no colour, while white is the absorption of all light and all colours.
But yeah, its colour theory.

Take a look at skin tones, for example. Does yours look more pink, yellow, olive?
If you hold up the colour red to your face, does it make your skin look like its really tan and orange? Or does it look pale and cold?
Technically its all "peach" or "brown" - depending on if you have light or dark skin. But the undertone of it can make it seem warm or cool.

this whole tut i learned in school in my trade. i taking classes in print shop and graphic design. trust me half the book is the difference between cmyk and rgb and how rgb is evil and should never be used. but there was a whole chapter that discusses everything in this tut. its nice to have a reference note for home though. thank you.
