I have Sonic & The Black Knight, and I saw all the fanart submissions. They were all pretty good, but some of them you can tell that SEGA or only chose them for the artist's age. :/
I honestly think that they should've accepted yours!

Love the amazing colouring.
It looks like it's done with a real-life paintbrush and not digitally.
The hands of both Sonic and Shadow are a bit too small though.
