Did you know that the ponies of Equestria have a life span that goes over 300 years?
👍: 0 ⏩: 2
RealityAndFiction In reply to mathemusic [2013-03-30 16:44:17 +0000 UTC]
Granny Smith has been around since the founding of Ponyville, and in the show they say that Ponyville has been around for 300 years.

Maybe a year takes less time in Equestria than here. Or Granny Smith is old enough to be insane.

N we've seen from flash backs that she was at the building of ponyville so, yeah, three hundred ... but this is invalid anyways due to MLP using cartoon logic.

The show. Its common knowledge that Granny Smith has been around since before the building of Ponyville. Ponyville has been around for atleast 300 years. Ergo ...

I'd be interested to see how long the phases of a 300 year old pony would work. It seems to me that some of the characters would have been in school or baby years for the same length as the average human, with more time being spent living in their prime. What's your thought in that regard?

RealityAndFiction In reply to PowerPlay25 [2013-03-23 21:20:28 +0000 UTC]
My thought is that this is a show about magical candy color ponies having adventures.I simply make observations about this kind of stuff, becasue when you start asking questions like that, you start going into the "why's" and "how's" ... your brain will begin to fail.

True enough. I know the show's meant for little kids, but I find considering the dynamics interesting in some cases (such as this one0. Besides, what's the harm in a little deep thinking?

Nothing at all, but you can't get answers from cartoon logic.

They do have a very stagnant population though. 300 year MIGHT be stretching it (or it may even be close. Fact is: We don't know).

Yes, but I wasn't talking about alicorns. Just the general population (Earth/pegasus/uncorn).
Although there seems to be exceptions like Sombre.

We won't know until they actually toss ages on them (Besides Celestia/Discord/Luna etc, as we know they're all 1,000+ years old. But they seem to be "legendary" ones sorta like in pokemon where the legends seem to have lived for thousands (Millions?) of years).
