What I didn't like is how everyone hated Sunset and even when she tried her best, they were still skeptical but Starlight gets a A-list star treatment and instant forgiveness and really the only one to blame is Hasbro. I don't like how Hasbro treats Sunset as a character. She deserves to be treated so much better. Sunset is one of the only characters I've seen proving herself to redemption. She's the best

I seriously think Starlight would fight back, HARD. Nothing tics her off more than bullies and ponies who think they're better than others. Just because Starlight was reformed I don't think she'd turns soft like Sunset did in the movies.
If these two fight it out, Sunset's not gonna have a good time because Daydream Shimmer can't appear--Daydream Shimmer's summoning requirement is a strong feeling of FORGIVENESS and FRIENDSHIP. Trying to bully someone for 'replacing' her would revert Sunset Shimmer back to her bully self, and thus Sunset wouldn't be able to draw out her ascended forms. So it will be unicorn vs unicorn only. No powerups, no phoenix wings, no crowns, no time spells. Just pure magic skills.
Starlight is PROVEN to be able to fly and dodge laser beams through self-levitation and can nullify Cutie Marks with her magic, while Sunset has only shown amazing skills when she was in her Super Shimmer forms (Devil Form, Anthro form, Phoenix wing (My Past is not Today), and Daydream Shimmer). Twi herself admitted that Starlight has talents not seen in many unicorns, talents possibly second only to Sunset or Sombra.
So unless Starlight wants to wait for Sunset to summon all her EqG friends, collect their magic then transform into Daydream Shimmer, it's not going to be one easy win for Sunset. Pound per pound, in base unicorn form, Sunset does not have that much of an advantage over Starlight. Also Sunset lacks practice, while Starlight's been hard at work for nearly a full season.
I'm not defending Starlight as a character, I don't like both of them much (Starlight and Sunset), but you DID want an argument over whether or not Starlight can defend herself, and that's my answer.

While I don't fully have the unbridled hatred of Starlight that some portions on the fandom have, I literally on see to positive points about her overall. One, she was at least a decent villain. While her driving force/motivation/thing that spurred her to evil, if the last five minutes had happened differently the episode would have been much better and her character wouldn't have turned into the pathetic mess it was the then.
Two, she was at least decently powerful, although I think it was overplayed. Twilight, a unicorn-turned alicorn who has only used real offensive magic a few times onscreen and still doesn't seem to have much overall durability, is certainly not the best judge of magic power and how it is used in combat. At least Starlight put up enough of a fight to make it interesting and not get defeated immediately by mystic powers.
Overall, she got off way to easily. Sure, her actions had no lasting consequences (that we've seen so far), but that is really a bad message for a kids show. "You can almost ruin the future even after you've seen what can happen from your actions, but that's ok since your friend was a little bit of a dick to you". At least, Sunset had to Earn her redemption, and she Became a better character for it (Getting hit by the rainbow was NOT a redemption, just the turnaround point). Also, by Starlight's and Hasbro's logic, both Twist and Moondancer are now entitled to a free shot at harming the peace of their world.
Hopefully, Starlight will disappear somewhere between seasons and might get only one or two limited mentions, if even that.
Kind of late to be saying this, but good drawing by the way. I like your style and am still fully onboard with whatever Sunset's here. Sunset best pony. (sorry for the small novel, but I couldn't stop myself).

Well yeah you're kinda right...but I still can't stand her D: Some people say, that she will become Twiligt's student, I would hate that. I mean the mane 6 are the MANE 6 and Starlight joins like super late in the show and should become a new member of the mane cast? Bah. I can't take more than a couple of episodes with her and if they are about her having fun with some of the mane 6 I won't take it. It's too much D:

Just because I could find two "positive" things, they are more about her role than her actual character. Her "reformed" character is still horrible, and I still hope she doesn't stay around for long either. If Sunset, Moondancer, or Trixie can't join as the new unicorn, I don't really want anyone else. I admit I would be more forgiving of her character if the finale had made some reference to EQG, but that might just be me.
I definitely don't like her as a 'good guy', since was ok as a villain. I hope that she pulls a Discord and betrays them later. I mean, she's already taken bits of Sunset's design and role, so she might as well copy Discord and face the ire of the rest of the fandom. While I don't hate her, I definitely don't like her.

I guess I already see her as too much of a copy of Sunet (or at least it seems like that with becoming friends with the mane 6 and some fans hyping her up as Twilight's student), so she might as well become a copy villain too. I just hate what they did with her. Trixie got punished for an act that wasn't ever her fault, but Star gets off scot free. I guess I just want some reason to dislike her more or have her at least earn what she was given for free (like Discord).
