I don't see why anyone would complain, she did come in the show as an alicorn, just like how Twilight became an alicorn. It doesn't change their characters that much. They just have wings and a horn at the same time. It's not like they are great at everything. Twilight of course maybe more powerful at magic now, but she was really powerful before in the first place! Heck! Her cutiemark IS magic! And Cadence was also shown to not have unlimited power in the Crystal Empire.
