Description A quick fun piece to design some infantry. Powered muscle suit.
Development of the Rangers setting documents is coming along and there are already plans for quite a number of factions, so that means the potential a variety of art when I really start rolling things out.

What do you guys want to see most when I'm working on random Ranger art?

Those would usually amount to a different model of armor, though the Elementals customize a fair bit themselves.

it's on both PlayStation and Xbox and I'm sure they said something about that one you pay your membership or the price of the game you don't have to keep chucking money at them each month, you just get to play

well those DLC are the chaser you need to keep your gaming high while the lack of sunlight an proper nutrition, dehydration and kidney damage from holding it as long as you can slowly kills you

Oooh upcoming ranger art.
Rangers in every extreme setting like deserts vs icecap and jungles as well as rangers mounting/ dismounting from APCs and VTOLs would look cool.
This one looks cool. I can never seem to get the neck brace to look normal on my guys. I envy your neck armor abilities

I would love to see some schematics for the shield generator, or maybe someone suiting up in a powered suit. Your star ships are the thing I'd love to see more of personally.

But anyways, it looks great and factions would be awesome. Now in real life factions aren't too different but in fiction, mainly video games, factions need to be noticeably different at first glance. My favorite examples of factions would be Mass Effect and MAG. Mass Effect's Cerberus were color coordinated and stood out against reaper forces and your allies, but I'm sure you know all about them. I will mention MAG tho cause it was an under appreciated game and you may not have heard of it.
In MAG you played as one of three private armies. Valor was a collection of the typical soldiers: Green clothes, most models had sunglasses and berets. Raven was a technologically advanced group in all black woven gear. S.V.E.R was more of a collection of gang members and thugs wearing orange and brown. SVER had stronger but less accurate weapons while Raven's weapons fired truer but packed less punch, with Valor being a happy middle. Their weapons look different too as they matched the organizations colors. Anyways, find a way to incorporate something like that and I think you could have a very distinct war going on. Maybe even have with some fans choosing which side they would favor.

There will be differences, but not just for the sake of being different, and not over the top. I think even real life variation is visible at a glance to anyone that cares about knowing. The units that modern military units deploy often have unique parts/gear, if not being completely original.

Not sure if I'm going to have boarding be a normal thing in my story. I feel that cwis defenses would shoot down boarding ships/pods too easily. The only types of units that can pull it off are shielded types, which are rare.

I suppose boarding would only be logical in that case if the ships got quite close to one another, then shooting down pods/shuttles becomes difficult.
I was also thinking you could do somethin along the lines of a field engineer or some kind of tech specialist, the idea of lots of equipment or drones seems cool to me.
In any case, I cant wait for the next Ranger/elemental piece!

So if this is a step down from Elemental, is this armor usable by male soldiers as well? Or does the same AI rule (I think that was the explanation as to why the Elementals were all women, anyways) apply to the infantry as well?

Heh, males still fill out most roles, even ones as powerful as Elementals. The Eles are a small and specialized unit, not a regularity.

With the different factions, I'd love to see different pieces that make them unique. (unless the armor only looks different by color and those off-white markings...)

I love the quad eyes on the helmet. Will they move independently or track with the user's eyes?

Also, have you seen Eureka 7? There is a very slight similarity to the Spearhead LFO, which is really cool. Really beetle like.

Also, is the dark grey armor like the base armor where additional plating can go on top?

I'll definitely be showing off the unique units of each faction.
The eyes are fixed or move with the user unless the suit has an AI utilizing them.

Like it, though I hate it's kind. As the concept looks like the kind, who run up on you in multiplayer. And start boxing you up, during a fire fight. The melee types always have really bothered me. Very little gear, ignoring buckets of bullets, it's just a frightening sight to behold. Such recklessness abandonment [*Shrugs*].

Really enjoying the artwork you've been creating with the power armor and the elemental ideas.

The only thing I can think of, is more of a detailed explaination of the armor. Giving a exploded view of say of a helmet variant; what this antanna does for the user, how one might put on or wear the suit. Weapons as well; tools of the trade.

More action bits though expanded, like from your prior images (Trials By Fire, for example) would be epic.

Looks good, Shimmy!! I love the almost abstract-looking head. What sort of protection does this suit afford its wearer? Protection from small arms fire, portable lasers, poison gas, biological weapons, etc., hopefully? I'd love to see some boarding action in space, maybe with a microgravity battle in an airlock or something (if these guys do microgravity). Full scale battle scenes are always good anywhere, though!!

kinda scaling this down from warsol, but I wouldn't mind seeing maybe a mid-fight mechanized assault group. you know, like a coupl-a rangers fighting a mech down the road or like Rangers + support bot taking on a base...something in that spectrum.

I would love to see a last stand type situation. Your work is great and I really enjoy your battle scenes but these guys can't always win right? I'd love to see how they would handle a last desperate defense or a hopeless charge to buy more time for the wounded to escape. Or if you were just talking about random quickie pics then maybe a squad breakdown to show how the units are normally composed?

Briareos has 5 eyes and in a different layout. Not seeing any shape similarities that are substantial. You may need to go out and look at some scifi, designs are a lot more subtle than you give credit.
