Description Done in an OC session a few days ago.

With the growing number of fielded Elemental soldiers the empires have put special priority on developing anti-shield tactics vs light armor. Aside from the blunt measure of surrounding and drowning an Elemental in a barrage of cannon fire, special weapons have been developed. These weapons are too costly and ill used against non shielded opponents, so are only deployed when in need.

Enter elementals equipped for quiet deployment, up armored and conventionally armed to strike as deep as possible without being detected as priority targets. If things get too hot, shield generators are spun out of standby and their real power is unleashed. Running silent is very risky, but the key is the gained element up surprise.

(mmm, longwinded)

Haha, I've heard that before. But you'd be surprised how many blocky 4 eyed helm designs there are out there, it's nothing new, EA definitely didn't do it first.

Yeah...it is also very very popular in manga. Almost as common as gundam heads. It falls in the more realistic mecha category.

Now thats the key aint it

I've seen good graphic novels barely scrape by with their donation drives but I've seen others rake in $2,000 and not have to run donations for a year!

It really relies on marketing and your audience. If you define them well enough so that they fit your work, then you can make the big bucks!

Best bet would be graphic novel, but of course I have bigger vision for it

graphic novel is basically a left to right manga. much like manwa (or however korean manga/graphic novel is spelled)

There are some differences between drawing techniques and filling. One big difference is manga's extensive use of line to create the illusion of speed, emphasis, power, etc. Graphic novels tend to rely less on line and more on detail in textures. But there arn't any defined differences really. Its just language translations

As for your bigger vision... I'm going with video game!!

The term of graphic novel I'm going on is like a western comic book, but a larger, more stand alone binding. High quality paintings with a complete story arc.
For me it would be like an art book, but with a story to it.

That would work great, one of the reasons war/military comics have a hard time is because they have to encompass the conflict in a grand scale, especially with ranged warfare. You can't do that well in small close up frames.

So we end up seeing melee mixed into the work to keep things close and 'intense'.

I'd have to agree about using a larger 'art book' look.
