Ok, first off I kinda wanna dedicate this to because her fandom of the musical Wicked inspired me to get the soundtrack.And needless to say, I became a little obsessed.
The song "No Good Deed" has to be one of my favorites because it's where Elphie questions everything she's done up to that point...and it struck a chord with me
I wanted to portray the emotion involved and all that junk, but I really just wanted to do some Elphie fanart, because I adore musical Elphaba.
I tried my hardest to draw the dress she wears, but holy crap is that thing elaborate, so this is a waaaay simplified version of it.
The book she's holding is the Grimmerie...I imagine she's slammed it shut because she doesn't know which spell to try, and this is the part where's she's thinking of Nessa, Dr. Dillamond, and of course, Fiyero.
her face is a little...off....and i know her hair is supposed to be black, but I'm not a huge fan of using black, so I made it dark brown. artistic license! ^^
also, once again...cheap bg...i hate backgrounds, so i threw in some blurry, airbrushed trees. enjoy!

Very interesting picture, I like how you captured the emotion of the song and this part of the musical with her facial expression and the way she's holding the spellbook. I saw this musical yesterday in Chicago as part of my sister's birthday celeebration- it was awesome! I love that Ford theater... it impressed me a lot for my first time in there. I remember this scene very clearly... so I can say you're pretty much right on the money here... hope you get a chance to see it yourself.

Aw! I'm jealous - I reallyreallyreally want to see it in Chicago, since it's more feasible to go there than to fly out to NYC (as much as I would love to do that, I'm saving up for school). I love the soundtrack and the libretto (I may or may not have read it online

Good choice, saving for school... seeing the play won't get you into school, lol. Balance is the key... my sister's fiancee bought those tickets, as much as I like to do nice things like that, $67 a ticket is a lot...
I guess I have a similar but opposite situation to you- I'm done with school, but now I have to pay back student loans... so my good paying job doesn't let me go out and spend money like that... but school is worth it. I got a job that I like and it lets me, Mr. Travel, fly for free, so I can't complain. You should see if you can get tickets as a birthday or XMAS present or something, then it wouldn't cost you anything. There's my two cents...
