Description Seeing as it's Fractal Week and also deviantART's 8th birthday , I felt I should mark the occasion with a fractal. I nearly called this one 'Ice Spirit' but realized in the nick of time I'd already called something that... so 'arty Ice' it is!

Happy birthday dA, and happy fractalling!

Apophysis 2.07 beta; script by Cabin Tom (the etchings one I think) with some tweaking; post-processed in Photoshop Elements.

Thank you -- I got in there and messed around with the transforms a bit. It certainly seems to open it up in different ways!

I know! It's amazing! If you want to read a really good journal about using the triangles, and such, go look back in journals at . It's about 4 or 5 pages back in her journals, but it is worth looking for. It's called tips and hints about plastic, or something like that. It helped me alot! You are doing a very good job! s

Thanks!
I located and bookmarked the journal entry for further reference... my Apo is currently chuntering away so I can't do anything with it right now.
I was so determined to leave it off for a while as my PC is so old and unstable, but then they brought out the new one, and I couldn't resist!

For anyone else looking here... Link to 1arcticfox's journal entry APO Plastic Hints and Tips

I hope the tips help, they did me! I had no idea about the triangles or what they did or how to do anything with them. But her journal helped me alot, just in that respect. I can never stay away from my art, if I'm not working with apo, I'm working in tierazon or mbf. Lately I've also been playing with daz studio, playing with 3D stuff. I'm having fun!

I love all these different programs; I have Daz Studio and Bryce, FE, MBF, ContextFree Art, Xaos... anything I saw that was touted anywhere. The problem with that is you go into Bryce or something after a long break and think "I know I can do such-and-such, but now I've forgotten how!"

I know what you mean! That's why I work mainly with three fractal programs that I am very familiar with, one 3D program, and one main graphics program. I also have a couple of other graphic editors, like irfanview, which will handle other kinds of formats that my PSP program won't handle. I have Daz Studio, I'm just learning how to work with it, but it's really cool. I also have a couple of font handing programs and a program to make icons. They are all free except for MBF and PSP. Which is really nice! s
