Well, I gess the swords are here to represent the battlefield caused by their love and how much they bring chaos and destruction in this world, and bring chaos and destruction in themselves as well.They have to kill each other to shape their own reality, they are two powerful entities bringing their all army to fight each other, but at the end will always be hesitant to kill each other. No matter how it ends, they will have to live with the consequences of all that blood in their hands.
