DescriptionSorry to people I owe art! I drew this at work (I wish we had pencils at work) since it was pretty slow today. My friend invited me to sushi tonight and came over to watch some anime. So, I really only had time to devote about an hour to coloring this.

I like to draw things in weird floaty positions from the side.
Here's my first idea about Shinerai. He looks mostly like his oldish form. He has most of his bold markings back but they are still slightly gradiented rather than a solid color. I took the white tips off his feathers and simplified his markings just a bit so that the body markings (even though they don't follow the body right in this image) match the neck markings. I kept the fully striped tail of new!shin, but made the stripes thin like old!shin. In nature, stripes distort movement. Since he's a thief and illusioner, I'm sure stripes do him well and they probably have more effect being thin. I may or may not add a few more stripes on his legs so that the ones on his tail aren't so random.

I kept the long feathers on the tail from new!Shin but am thinking about adding fur at the base of them instead of the fan of feathers hmm. he has new!Shin's furry chest and elbow/ankles, but it's much more shaggy and I think it fits him good. He has old!Shin's defined brow and more compact face but new!Shin's long ears and earring.

His body is slightly longer than old!Shin, but he has old!Shin's lanky limbs and high wrists/ankles but new!Shin's long fingers/toes.

He has new!Shin's color gradient where the darks are focused on his tail/head, but old!Shin's gradient where the darks are focused on the feet/hands and back/shoulders/thighs.

Also old!Shin's pink mouth and dull blue eyes rather than the electric blue ones.

WELL, I think that's about all I have to say to this image. I'm really happy with it and, aside from minor changes, I think this is where he's going to stay. It's funny how me revamping him is actually going back to an older version.
