Description A gargoyle I named Cliffside. She was named for the place she hatched, a tradition in her clan. The more dangerous the hatching place, the more respect in the clan. Cliffside has some decent respect. Not top tier, but up there.

Interesting clan tradition, but I can't help but imagine it's occasionally resulted in tragedy. Some people get upset about names coming from the clan, but I've always felt each had its own customs, and the nameless thing was more of a Scottish, or maybe even Wyvern only thing

This one is more true to the show in respect to colouring & clothing.
does her clan not have a Rookery? If not then how do the hatchlings get the moss/slime that they need? Since it usually grows on the walls of the Rookery (see Gargyles Ep. One)
Anyway. Cool character, I like how pensive & yearning she looks.

I think eating moss/slime was more Broadway being Broadway than it being part of the hatchling's regular diet. From what I read on the wiki they breastfeed and then transition to solid foods like humans do.

I just love all of your Gargoyles. the character designs themselves, the color schemes, and your shading are all things to be envied.

I bet the gargoyle named Freeway Intersection gets lots of respect.

That's an interesting mechanic to introduce a hierarchy into a gargoyle clan. Naming isn't a "traditional" Gargoyle thing (at least not in Wyvern in the 900s) but we learned on the World Tour that naming had become more common.

I really like this idea- it's full of potential stories, and for having gargoyles introduce who reward ambition and risk-taking.

I dunno about this tradition. Makes me think parents would purposely place their eggs on hazardous places just so the hatchlings would gain great reputation. Prestige is a dangerous thing.

That's the funny thing about tradition... it's really stupid sometimes

I agree. The parents of "Erupting Volcano' would be insane.

I'm curious about what would be the most and least respected names. Stuff like "Battlefield" or "Mountaintop", and "Cherrygrove" or "Sandybeach"?

Fantastic picture and great idea.

I thought of the gargoyles being a bit more protective about the eggs though.

Makes you wonder how many hatchlings they loose over the side.
