I like to draw people I know as gargoyles when I get bored. But VERY VERY rarely do these drawings ever see the light of day, because it's an area I've gotten a lot of teasing for growing up.But I kind of liked how this one turned out...
Even so, I did it months ago. It's a wonder I ever built up the guts to upload it.
Y'all are lucky.

Hey, no worries. I used to turn everyone I knew into unicorns, and I think that probably would have been a lot more tease-worthy than gargoyles.
But when I look back on it, I don't feel embarrassed anymore. I kind of smile to myself and say "yeah I WAS the kid who drew unicorns. And you know what? Good for me. I wasn't afraid of who I was."

I love his wings and his face, and the pose. I know how you feel about being teased. I was always teased because all I could draw was dragons. Then I started drawing manga people. Now I draw both, but I still like dragons better.

Meh, don't let anyone tease you. those things you do all the time when bored or whatever, those usually turn out to be the things you most enjoy doing. so keep doing it. ^^ People used to tease me for spending my time drawing anything, let alone my fantasy stuff... I showed them all. XD

I've always wondered if gargoyles (in the "Gargoyles" universe) could look like anything other than the vaguely bat/lizardine forms that we are familiar with. When I used to write fan-fiction in that universe, my unique character to that universe looked more like a psuedo-humanoid werewolf with pure white fur and enormous raven wings named "Thunderclap". Unlike the more familiar Gargoyles mythos, Thunderclap didn't revert to stone upon daybreak, but rather upon having been greatly wounded; if he wasn't destroyed during this hibernation, like the familiar gargoyles, he would awake completely healed.

Very nice, and I can understand how you feel. I got teased a lot too back in the day for some of my art and quirks which sucked. It can really bring down one's self esteem. But if it helps at all, I want to let you know that I really like this piece (especially the little glowing ember in his hand). What's more I love Gargoyles... best Disney TV series if you ask me. So two thumbs up from me! ^_^ *applaudes*

Teasing's lame.
But I feel the same about my Neverwhere anthros. I always ask the people I make character's after a whole lot of questions about the one they want me to make...so's I don't insult them somehow with how the anthro looks or something.
I love your coloring style with the lines near matching colors. I've tried this before and never seemed to get it to work for me XP Looks awesome and the pose is great!

I like this piece too. I was just looking at Rebekah, and I have determined, that you're just a really good artist. I like how Tim is hanging off of the building. It's very gargoylian. But I'm not sure I know what the glowing smokey thing is.

The glowy smoky green thing is just some random bit of magic that basically translates to "I wanted that particular light source and needed an excuse"
