It's not bad. I'm bad with abstract art but maybe with practice I'll get better.

See I use the left side of my brain far more than my right. The most creative (truely creative) thing I do is maybe make 1 or 2 designs (but they're all based on thing already out there so it doesn't count). I just feel like I'm specializing in my art. I'm doing more technical drawings more than abstract.

It's alright to do something based on something already out there, it helps you get better.it's hard to come up with something original...

Yeah but when you think of abstract art it really is thinking outside the box. Lighting, physics, and forshortening are all things that can be thrown out the window when you do abstract. I'm creative but it's hard to imagine melting clocks or the infinate staircase. Even tribals take a lot of thinking. So what are some rules for abstract art?

For me when it comes to colors i try to choose colors that complement each other, the shapes and designs usually comes from experimenting with various designs so it kinda gets frustrating at times to make a good piece, lightning and shading are the last part of the work and it depends on the theme or style you're going with. My first point of reference is the logo or character i will include in the wallpaper(for instance ragna wears black, red and white so the wallpaper reflects on that).
