Leap, Solla! Go!

Different angle and close-up on Sports Candy’s version of Sportacus I am doing for the ‘Leap, Solla’ pic. As many of you already well know SC’s was based upon the hair style and features of his creator and actor Magnús Scheving:

Dusting off my ‘rust’ if you will. This is the first illustration, manga/comic art I’ve attempted to do since my corrective surgery this past July. How’s it coming? Just pencils at the moment. Not finished w/ Stephanie’s legs. I spent most of the remainder of that month recovering before taking on some seasonal paper mache projects in August to start for Halloween. (Btw, you’ll find 30 WIP and completion photos of those projects up on my Deviant right now if you would like to see them) Crafting for me was the best way to mimic what I was already doing in physical therapy. Aside from pulling strings, throwing balls, and writing my name several times, I was also squeezing play dough.

I still get asked a lot about ‘Sports Candy’ and honest to God I really want to see this complete and up for all of you. I want to see it in print and know that you all feel the same. I have news to share about this —What happen, why did it happen, and what’s going to happen that I’ll be sharing later. Much of which is the obvious. My health at the time just would not allow me to do so and I had a lot of stubborn denial over that fact. I was also fighting the ‘powers that be’ to not cancel the damn thing after all of the hard work I had put into it! (Details later.) It’s been a climb and I thank you all for putting up with that assortment of headaches.
