Description

The bird that was actually a lizard. Oculudentavis has been formally reclassified as a squamate. This small critter known by a single skull

trapped in Burmese amber made quite a fuss in the paleo-sphere as it shed light on the appalling conditions of the workers excavating the amber,

which is sold among others to paleontologists, and the benefits financing war in Burma.

Funny indeed and yet darkly sobering in the context of its discovery.

Thank you! Indeed the morphological attributes overwhelmingly suggest a lepidosauromorph nature. ^^

Possible but less and less likely, the lepidosauromorph-like characterstics seem quite conclusive. But indeed we will have to wait for a more complete specimen. ^^
