Robert Munsch is an American-Canadian children's book author who is known for his stories involving children as the main characters being put into bizarre, unrealistic, or straight up impossible scenarios. He seems to use the theme of empowering kids a lot, hence the grand tradition that the adults do not have their names revealed in most episodes. Also, a lot of his stories have women and girls as the main characters.

He rose to fame with his books, "The Paper Bag Princess", and "Love You Forever" in which The Paper Bag Princess was turned into an episode for here that functioned as more of a special.

All 13 episodes of the A Bunch of Munsch series are all based on various books of his. He is known mostly for The Paper Bag Princess than any of the other stories for the series in particular.

He often times makes cameo appearances as himself in either animated or live-action form, especially in the intro for the show as green screen footage. Sometimes he even voices some characters himself too.
