The blue hue of the entire scene made me feel like there was a certain kind of sadness that she is feeling. As if she lost something, or someone, dear to her. Like it defines her as who she is and the decisions she will make for the rest of her life. Yet, at the same time, all of the sadness and sorrow she has felt and experienced is her strength that gets her through the day. Furthermore, her sexual needs and wants shine through. What I see is a woman who is strong yet wants to feel like she is safe in her lover's arms. The wedding ring on her left arm tells me that she has found taht person. Laying in the water and sand on the beach tells me that she does trust the world around her enough so that she can live on through the powerful arena of the uncontrolable world around her. Her dark hair combined with the white strips of hair tell me that she has indeed been through so much in her life that an older person could not equal, maybe surviving war or situations that mature her faster than the average person. It speaks so much volumes to me without words.
