CUTIES.I felt annoyed with how many people seemed so dang angry at the light fury (her design and that Toothless is in a heterosexual relationship) so I wanted to draw this against that. >:T I find it all silly. With the design, there could be actual reasons why she looks this way! And even if not, I don't mind. Still, I say wait until the movie actually comes out before you go nuts on her design!
And those getting angry about the straightness... they thought he was the last night fury! >:V Gotta make dem babies!
...I'd like them to have babies anyways. LOL Thus I made my own fan creation of the two, though had a little fun with the design. xD and I doubt a baby like this could fly, BUT IT'S JUST FOR THE PICTURE! And I think Toothless can't actually fly without Hiccup? If I remember that correctly, BUT HAVING IT LIKE THIS ANYWAYS! I wanted the cuuute.
The Light Fury's design may not be completely accurate.
I am so hyped to see this movie, and seeing Toothless's failed mating dances! xD
Edit: yes I know now that the light fury is a sub species, and why Toothless can't fly! I'd suggest readin what other people have said for their perspectives! :'0

Honestly, to the people who were fussing that Toothless should be gay- NOT everything has to be a 'Steven Universe' type cartoon.
As for me, I'm indifferent to the whole 'main character falls for thier rule 63 counterpart (to me it only works for those 1920s/1930s toons like Mickey with Minnie. I'm kinda iffy on the whole StitchxAngel thing due to the whole 'experiments are Stitch's cousins' thing (wow another Chris Sanders character who found a girl) and I Freaking LOATHE the PowerpuffxRowdyruff ships like heck.)Β
Luckily, Toothless and this light fury are one couple I really really (see reasons below)
On the whole 'just a colour swapped/gender bent version but feminine' thing, Furies are a SPECIES (hence the similarities and such) and need to breed. Besides I heard no one complain about Rain (from Spirit) or Kira (from Jim Henson's Dark Crystal- Wow another female who has light colouration (blonde hair) in contrast to the male (Jen has dark hair). AND like Fury species of dragon, Gelflings were almost killed off too).

I think the baby in the middle is so adorable. And plus I was hoping something like this would be addressed in the movies. In the holiday one, all the other dragons left and came back with babies. I was hoping Toothless would find a mate of his own too.Β

Stolen artI'm starting to get several notes about this, so I want to make it aware that I know my art is being sold! I don't want it to be... but I've given up with bothering about it. :c It adds a lot of unnecessary stress. I'd be more bothered if I was also trying to sell the same art but others are taking advantage of it.
The last time I tried reporting my art being sold (showing on FB) it made me scared FB would make a strike against ME. Cuz it said how I needed to contact the person first (when I did I was then blocked and couldn't get back to them :') ) and then there were so many warnings that I could get in trouble for reporting "if false" or something. I don't remember exactly what it said, but it made me far too paranoid and doubtful (which is weird and funny at the same time??)
So... yeah. My art (mostly my fanart) will be stolen time and time again and sold. I just have to not care. :c
Now if someone is impersonating me or posts my art on here, let me know! I'll try to talk to them a

Ok ok I know its just a move and this will prove I have no life posting this but in an interview they said the light fury is a subspecies of the night fury. She is not an albino. She has no red eyes. My best friend made the case that this is probably a cash grab non original design like a lot of media. She may honestly be right but I just wanted to provide some insight that because she is a subspecies that it is possible for them to be attracted to each other and mate. www.newshub.co.nz/environments⦠ . This is an article of the subspecies sumerian tiger mating naturally with a bengal tiger. Now honestly if toothless is the last nightfury unless they have biological sciency sperm stuff (xD I am not a expert in genealogy and preservation of species) his offspring will honestly breed with other light furies (In the interview it was stated that they are not endangered) and I believe (please correct me if I am wrong) that the genes would keep getting flooded with light fury genes until the night fury is washed out. I am open to talk about it :3 Please be nice I am soft and squishy

Honestly, I don't mind the idea of Toothless finding a girlfriend that much (even if it is, admittedly, a very common cliche in animated sequels - just look what happened to the main trio of Ice Age, for example). With Toothless being the last of its kind, this plot development is actually more justified than usual. Toothless may have his friends alright, but without a mate, his species will be doomed to extinction. Though I suppose it already is, in a way, and the same goes for that light fury (if she's the last one of her species too). Their children will be mixture of them both, not fullblooded night furies or light furies. Not to mention that their offspring will also need to find new mates, ones that'll give them fertile offspring... so yeah, the next generations for these species is probably gonna be quite a mixture of different species/breeds.
I'd only wished that the light fury would have had more originality going for it design-wise, other than being mostly a colour swap of a night fury with softer features. Heck, just having some darker markings on its white body or maybe slightly differently shaped wings (and perhaps even horns) would've made it feel more than an albino version of a night fury. Similar enough to be considered related species, but different enough so that the light fury would feel more like its own thing. instead of just lightly coloured mutation.
As for Toothless' flight capability, that's the first thing that popped to my mind with the prospect of him and Hiccup going their separate ways. The first movie made it very clear that he can't fly on his own.... so either they'll manage to create a new tail prosthetic for him that somehow allows Toothless to fly independently OR he and Hiccup will continue their symbiotic friendship in their new home. The Vikings might set up a new village next to those hidden dragon caves or something, and together Hiccup and Toothless could catch food for their respective families, hang out etc. But by the end of the day, they'd still return back to their own families.
But back to your art - I really like the humble colour scheme and the overall arrangement of this picture. The baby dragon is cute - props for making it a legit hybrid and not a miniature copy of either parent (like someone mentioned about Lady and the Tramp 2 in the comments)... but honestly, I think the arrangement would work even better without the baby dragon, even if it is cute. Removing it would allow the viewer focus more on the ying-yang duality of the main couple and their overall symmetry.

dunno if you were told this or found it yet, but the Light fury is a sub-specie of Night fury (Dean said this somewhere in a QnA) and is not the last of her kind. Albino's don't have blue eyes, so she isn't an albino, even if white. She's more of a blue-eyedΒ leucistic (or however it's spelled). Basically, she is her own specie with her own unique powers, so she isn't a recolor. xDΒ
