you're the first person to say so but i kinda thought it was a little thin too... it kinda works and kinda doesnt... might re-visit this soon.

um and as for program i was playin around in sketchup but ive been using 3ds max for a while so if i was serious i would most likely model it in this

very nice, if you make it a tad more steam line and longer then give it wider external steel plates it'll look fresher. that is if thats what you're looking for. i like it because im writing a story and its set in a new age WW2 setting, with lots of large mechanical things.

By any chance, is this inspired by GDI's Mammoth Tank?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shinypants In reply to KajiTetsushi [2010-09-19 22:45:29 +0000 UTC]

not intentionally no. I just did a google search on what that was and i guess there are similarities but i havent ever seen this tank before. I was just stuffin around and designing with no ref

Mm-hmm... 4 individual tank treads is the trend nowadays, eh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shinypants In reply to KajiTetsushi [2010-09-20 06:04:06 +0000 UTC]

and accusing people of copying a tank they really havent seen before is also a trend it seems. I never claimed to be inventing individual treads. i also never claimed that i was being 100% original. If anything my inspiration came from the large tank in the original halo...

might wanna start getting some facts straight before throwing around ideas that people are just copying shit.

Whoa, whoa, chill. I didn't mean to upset you. It so happens that I've been slowly seeing 4 treads more often, that's all.

And in case you're starting to think that I don't appreciate this piece, then no. I actually find it interesting. Tanks are hard to come by in dA ever since humanoid mechs became the new tank. And I'm rather disappointed that I can't find as many tanks as I do mechs.
