Description
Our second project in sculpture survey is to create a figure or object and then cast it in metal. My theme for my sculpture is going to be domestic abuse so I’m currently trying to make a female figure to cast in metal. Once she’s done, I’m going to make a purple ribbon to tie in her hands or around her neck since I found while researching my theme that a purple ribbon or the color purple is often used as a symbol in support of people who have suffered domestic abuse. The ribbon will look clean and beautiful at the top but start to look torn and ripped the further the ribbon goes down. This is meant to symbolize that not all relationships start off abusive. The relationship could have started off fine at first and maybe the abuse started later on.
