Yoichi was a calm, charismatic, and somewhat-polite young man. He liked to challenge himself whenever possible, and he followed a semi-strict training schedule he set for himself. He loved to walk around the village, playing with the local children and admiring the women. He would become easily heated up at the prospect of battle, and usually liked to help at the tactic meetings. He was very prideful and felt honored in being part of the Secondary House and even though he respects the Primary House and it's Leader, he tends to feel resentment at the reason behind the split in houses.
But many of those traits within him have changed. Yoichi, now at 21 years of age,
finds himself feeling a bit more strained and tense these days. With the two houses at each others throats and the ever rising tensions with the Kitsune, the young man feels as if he'd aged a few more years beyond his 21. Home life wasn't as simple as it was before, his father having taken to speaking to him of his duties to the secondary house and how he would dishonor it with his traitorous friendships he found in the young main house man, Michio and his Aoki friends. The eyes of those main house elders who once looked down upon him as a child, were now back in full force, and more pressure was placed upon his shoulders to represent his clan and Branch house. As if not enough, his father was rarely home nowadays, always away in clan meetings to plan battle tactics. The responsibility as the oldest and only son of his home, was now to look after his family in his father's absence. He feels it is his duty to instill a sense of equality to his sister, Emiko, where she will not judge who her enemy is based upon prejudices and clan rivalries, instilled by political worms who wish to prey upon her innocent mind.
Although burdened with his clan and familial duties, he still finds time to escape and meet his friends away from all the tension and talk of war. Although frowned upon, he still sees his childhood best friends, Michio Asukai of the Main House and
Nene, Michi, Keigo and Mitsuru of the Aoki clan, and his new friend Kazue Kitsune. While in their company he is able to remove the mask of adulthood and become his old self, although a shadow of what is there new present still lingers in his mind, and he will often lose focus and become withdrawn. Filled with all the doubts, duties and tensions, he still manages to be faithful in his friends and hopes for a better future in which his sister will not have to grow up with mistrust, unjustified anger and prejudices.
