i don't know why, but for some reason i find cemeteries to be really pretty.

this was taken on ocracoke island (actually, if you look in my scraps i have other pictures of this and other cemeteries from last year; the only difference is that i have a better camera this time), and there is one road that has a bunch of little cemeteries along it. most of them are family graves, but this one was next to the british cemetery, where there are marble graves comemmorating the victims of a U-boat attack (the islands of the outer banks are known as the "graveyard of the atlantic ocean").
