What a very touching dedication to so many dear Shirley. They were all dear and very special in our lives. I am so very sorry they have gone now, but you know they live in your memory and in your heart and nobody can ever change that. Although I did not know some of them personally other than Serge and Nick, I am sure they were all so very special in your life and your family as well.

Thank you so very much dear Shirley for this touching dedication in remembrance of my brother Serge: R.I.P who died on 12- 9-2014. It is hard to believe he has been gone this long because it seems like it just happened. The pain is still very real, and I have lost others over the Holidays who are very close to my heart. It is a very bittersweet time every single year. I also remember our wonderful dear friend Nick R.I.P as he was one of the very kind people here always helping others, and encouraging them without expecting anything in return.

May our memories remind us always how much we are loved by those who left and how much we will always love them

Thank you so much Denyse. You are right no one can ever take
away our memories of our loved ones, as long as we remember
them they will always be with us. I never got to meet Owen's
grandparents or Andy's mum. but I like to remember them like
this as both Owen and Andy are now part of my family and I
know how much they both miss their loved ones

You are very welcome Denyse, I like to remember Serge like this
too. He is part of the reason I was so determined to do my click
to donates every day and why I spend some time each day signing
petitions. He taught me that one person really can make a difference.
I can't believe it has been 3 years already Nick was a lovely
man and such a good friend to us all which is why I have kept his
photograph on my profile page. It is sad knowing he is no longer with
us, but seeing his cheeky face always encourages me to get on with
my art and journals as I have no doubt he will still be keeping an
eye on all of us!

As always thank you for the favourite!

I am deeply touched by your comment about Serge and how he inspired you dear Shirley. He did raise so much money on his own for organ transplant organizations, AlS society, The Red Cross Blood donation support and even manned one of the Salvation Army donation Kettles in the last few months of his life. He was truly and amazing person. He also signed up thousand of people for organ donation and lectured all over his area at countless meeting to bring awareness to all his causes. I remember him calling me ( when he could still talk. He lost that ability from ALS the last few months of his life and had to use a tablet to communicate with what little use he had of his hands ) and telling  me that he had gone out with his handicap scooter with a basket and some flyers and a sign and his tablet to go to the mall and get even more people to sign up to donate organs. Yes they are all in our heart and as we think of them we remember to keep donating to those causes as without our help they cannot survive. I feel that if we can help just by clicking and it is free we need to at least do our best to participate. Have a blessed day

Wow Denyse I knew Serge was a remarkable man but
I am now even more impressed. He did so much to
help others, I can see why you were all so proud of him.
Although to be honest I knew he was a good man as
soon as I saw his picture as he had such a sweet smile!
Click to donate is one of the best ideas ever as it means
that everyone can do their bit to help!

He was also very involved in trying to get ordinances passed to help the handicap people. He was responsible for having forms for Organ donations available at all the public agencies in his area. In his last few months he crafted what name " Serge's deal" it was an effort to exempt handicap people how needed to move as he did to a place wheelchair accessible like a different house without paying transfer taxes. It was not something that was going to help him as he has already moved around the corner from his old house to a house built for a handicap child. He paid thousands in transfer property fees although the new place was not worth any more than the one he was in. His view on this is that the transfer fee prevented less fortunate people from moving because they could swap houses but not come up with the fees. In turn these folks would wind up in nursing homes and that took away their ability to lived their finals month's, weeks of even days in the comfort of home and family while saving the government millions of dollars. The deal did not go through Nicky tried for one more year going to many meeting working with politicians to get it passed but as far as I know it is a dead issue now sadly.

He was a remarkable person indeed. I remember the last time I visited him the new people had just left they were doing another segment about this Serge's deal thing. Hopefully some day somehow this will come up again if not in that version in a similar one. It makes no sense to not pass such a law especially since there is so much abuse on nursing home patients for lack of care .Many do not get what they need they are just a number especially if there is no family to look out for them.

Just when I think I couldn't be more impressed with
Serge I find that I am. I am just amazed by how
selfless he was and how determined he was to help
others even so close to his final days. Serge's Deal
is an great idea and like you I would like to see
this happen one day especially as it meant so much
to Serge so that his dream will one
day became a reality! You have a lovely day too Denyse!

I am having a very good day, our bunny girl Daisy had
to got to the vets for an operation. I was worried about
her but she came through it just fine thanks to our
excellent vets!

She is a lot better now thanks Denyse. She has
got pain killing medicine and antibiotics. When
Kirsty was grooming her she found some wounds
near her bottom but there was no sign of what
caused them. It turned out she was in so much
pain she had done it herself. The vets thought
she has bladder stones but it turned out to be
a urinary tract infection. The fun bit is we have
to try and and get them a urine sample, but they
have said that it doesn't matter if we can't get it!

With special non absorbent cat litter. So far
all she has done is sit on it and then hop
back off again. We can tell she is feeling a
lot better though as she is starting to fight
having to take her medicine which is a good
sign, She is getting back to her usual fiesty
self again!
