Hi,Β
I don't know why and how DD's get chosen.
As an artist you really don't have any influence on this.
To be honest with you I'm not as active on DA anymore then i was a few years ago.
At that time a Daily Deviation meant a lot to me, now i just see it as a reminder that people still visit my DA portfolio.
I'm originally a vector artist, so i've never imagined one of my icons would get a DD.
I don't make art to get a Daily Deviation, I create artwork to feel relaxed and happy.

I used to look at DD's and be inspired by them, most of them I still am! And I have suggested so many images for a DD.. But a lot of work I see submitted now doesn't show the effort or love for the arts that a DD used to have.
I used the think about how much I wanted to improve and aspire to draw something everyone loved so much it got a DD, but now I feel like the stuff in my gallery is already at that standard, the stuff in anybody's gallery is at that standard, DD's don't seem to mean as much..

rude! You should keep this to yourself, you can bitch about this kind of stuff with the people who recommended it as a DD but not on the Artists site! Its not theyre "fault" (yeah, maybe a Fault in your eyes) that this got a DD.
If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all

I think they should be able to express their opinion, MissSilverSonicBases was only asking why, there could have been a point she was missing, or perhaps feels that they have seen better work on here that deserves the DD more, I agree with you that is it not the artist fault they got the DD for it, but there is no need to be so abrupt.
They both merely stated their opinion, they said nothing "rude" or inappropriate. It is a cute icon I admit. But be honest with yourself, they were not "Trolling" or putting needles "bitchy" comments out of spite, I have seen much worse writtenΒ on a DD..

Thank you.
None of us have influence on how Daily Deviations get chosen.
When was really into DeviantArt (4 to 5 years ago) I really loved getting Daily Deviations because it meant more recognition and freelance work for me.
Now it's just nice but it doesn't mean that much to me anymore.
I can understand why the new and younger DA users get upset about this because they are working hard to get more recognition and attention.
They just need to know it has always been this way. When i first started making vector art DA meant a lot to me, but it's just one of the many art communities on the internet.
Everyone should just have fun creating art and making friends online and don't worry too much about DD's and watchers. DA isn't an online game, it's made just to relax and have fun and to show your art to the world.

Anyways, this comment doesn't belong on the site of the dd itself, because how could the artist or someone possibly answer why this got a DD? It would have make me really uncomfortable if that was posted on one of my deviations, seriously.
It was just a rude rhetorical questions that wasn't meant to be actually answered in the first place.
