NO MORE POOPY SMUDGY DUMBFACED SKETCH LINES. GR. *kicks bad sketchy lines*ive just started to use open canvas to 'ink' my work before i color, and so far.. i really love the results ;.; its so much cleaner, and nicer to look at up close.. *hugs it* i cant believe i havent tried this sooner.... but anyway. this is my character Evening Cross, and the pic was originally just a doodly in the bottom corner of one of my preloved pages in my sketch pad. *meaning i scribbled all over it already and then went back and drew in the one clear spot* she's in her man disguise, cuz its the only way i draw her anyway... she just makes a better he. she's also part of our ragnarok rp's ^^ i wuvvles her, its the first time ive ever cged her too.. so yah ^^
im soooo happy ;o; im gonna have to buy open canvas now...

Cool, grave, and invoking underlying emotions .Eve of Winter. is a piece not to be overlooked by the Heathery ..or anyone else. :3 The scattered suspension of varying snowflake-orbs leaves the viewer suspended in a midnight blizzard. Evening Cross blends incredibly well with both the tones of the image and the composition. The feathery-fluff of her shoulder-armor leaves me in awe, as I am an aspiring CG artist like you (at least I assume you are 'aspiring') and am obsessed with texture detail. I love the clean contrast of the golden iris against the darkness of the scene. The flowing shadows within the cape's billowing folds, and the reflective textures in the knight armor, add to the subtle intensity of this picture.
And my absolute favorite asset of this image: The blood speck-blotchies.
Sheer awesomeness, Shirotsuki. I am thoroughly impressed and glad to hear you too enjoy the simple inking pleasures of open Canvas. .m.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The cool blue tones amplified the stoic, serious stance of the warrior, with that dangerous golden glint within his eye. It gives the feeling of cold harshness, yet at the same time, the soft feathers, hair, cloak, and snow also bring out a gentle softness. I can't stop staring at this. It wonderous and exciting and colourful and I am SO faving this.
You should be proud of yourself. You MUST be.

Lovely effects on the snow storm! if you don't mind me asking how did you do it?

the background is just varying shades of blue in a streak-like pattern, and the snow was added in soft dotty lookin' thingies by tap-tap-tappin' on my tablet a whole lot XD the flurries were applied in three layers, one set was done with windy effects on an overlay layer, one was just regular white fluffs, and the last one was on top of the main image so that it looked like she was 'in' the weather and not in front of it ^^ i hope that makes some sort of sense.. ehe.. and thanks!
