Very nice, Planet Manhatten being hit by an asteroid sounds like it could be a intresting sequel to the original game! If they ever make one....

I still play Freelancer on Just4Fun Euro Freelancer Server. To bad Microsoft didn't kept their end of bargain and stopped the Global Server before April (as they said they would end a game life cycle after 5 years, they decided to come short on Freelancer, not a nice move from them i might add).
Global Server being down Freelancer servers have problems keeping the number of players high, some of them are already closing, this is sad.
Methods to join the servers are many:
1. FLSDCT (Freelancer Server Direct Connection Tool) you can find it here [link]
2. Global Server Fix v0.9beta you can download it from LancersReactor (you need to login for this) [link] from RapidShare [link] from FileFront [link] from Mod DB [link] or from here [link]
3. Freelancer GLS Workaround [link] (you need Freelancer Mod Manager (FMM) to use it, you can find it here [link] or here [link] )
4. XFIRE lets you join a server too if you already visited it when Xfire was open. In a word Xfire is the gamers IM, you can download it here [link]

This is a random planet (or in this case Manhatten) and it is hit by a big-ass asteroid.
Total destruction with 0% survival.
The planet will blow up flinging molten rocks every where, destroying everthing around it.
What a way to die...
