I haven't done paintings in a long time.//thought that I should give semi-realism a try...but it still ends up in anime style OTL
erm...this can be a brunette (or red hair...) Alice?Β I don't know. OTL
I'm nor quite sure if the hair looks more brown or red.

I remember better now, she may have also been drawn to look blond in the books but the original little girl named Alice Liddell who she was based on was a brunette. ^_^Β
Another explanation for the brunette Alices you've been seeing might be American McGee's Alice in Wonderland based games though. ^_^

3) draw body
4) add more hair + strange things in the back

For painting, I usually do things in one layer to make it blend together.

Oh, wow. All the attention is directed towards the face. The eyes, lips and nose are certainly a step towards semi-realism and it might be difficult to achieve, but this is certainly a good try at it.
