I just love these little portrait brooches that you do, they light a little candle of happyness inside me when I see them. You must use a tiny brush! Whenever I do a painting that small I always end up doing the outlines not in paint but in felt tip pen, maybe my hands aren't steady enough, I tend to blotch.
Anyway, I love your work!

i use a 000 mostly. I have pretty steady hands, i think it's hardest on my eyes! one day i will get a big desk mounted magnifying glass. And thank you x

A magnifying glass is actually a really good idea! I mainly do tiny drawings so that would actually help tonnes.
