History:
Angela grew up as an only child in the town of Laredo, Texas. Her childhood was not exactly a happy one. Her parents had a love-hate relationship and often fought. Both would engage in extramarital affairs and not even bother to hide it. Angela became rebellious in her teenage years. She'd find comfort and attention in hanging out with the wrong crowd, although for the most part she just played the role of bystander.
At age 16 she became involved romantically with a bad boy. He often stole from small shops to make a quick buck. One day he sustained an injury when the owner of the shop he tried to rob, fought back. For Angela, seeing her lover in pain and agony triggered her healing powers to emerge. That was the first time she came to really accept she had a special kind of magical power. In her younger years, there were similar incidents that occurred, but as she grew older she dismissed the memories of it as just childish imagination. Now she truly believed, and her boyfriend now aware of her gift, exploited it in the coming weeks. Her powers were still very undeveloped, but he considered them useful enough. Knowing he had her to somewhat undo any damage his body could receive, he became more aggressive in his robberies. It was only a matter of time before innocent people became seriously hurt, and she realized she was an accomplice to a dangerous criminal.
Unhappy with the direction in which her relationship and her life was heading, she confessed to her parents what was going on. In return, her mother revealed to her that she was the product of an extramarital affair early in her marriage, and that her powers were inherited from her biological father. With the news, Angela become depressed and even more rebellious. Seeing her sad and unhappy state, her mother thought it best to have her move schools and finish her high school education in a different surrounding. She also researched colleges for when she'd graduate and came across information on Arcanum Universum. She was instantly convinced that this is what Angela needed to get back on the right track. Once she graduated, she enrolled Angela there with high hopes that in a few years her she will have earned not only her degree, but a better outlook on life.

At last the day Angela has been waiting for- for seeming all her life- has finally arrived. Despite not being a morning person, she awoke in good spirits and got herself dressed and ready for her first day of college life in record time. To her it feels as though her journey to becoming a decent human being truly begins this day, even though it's been a couple of years since she has been doing her best to keep from falling into bad habits once more. Now that she will be surrounded with other gifted individuals who aspire to further their talents and intellect, she is confident she won't encounter much temptation to return to her bad ways.
Ah, this looks to be the room. Pausing in front of the door to her new classroom she does some last second tidying-up. A little tug at her bow to make sure it's tightly tied, a couple of brushes of her long strands with her fingers, and lastly, a big toothy smile to greet her instructor and fellow students with when she opens the door and enters.
Ah, my face feels like it's got a really weird look going on... She pauses and thinks it better to just enter without the forced smile. Big, bright smiles were not something she wore often on her face and it just felt out of place. Either way, even if she did not look enthusiastic on the outside, inside she was absolutely filled to the brim with enthusiasm.
Yes, today is a good day. She nodded to herself, finally turning the knob and making her way inside, and as she did, a tiny smile crept onto her lips after all.
Yep, it is a good day...
