It's a physics puzzle game that came out a while ago (2007). It was great, you were a test subject in an abandoned facility being led through a course by a sociopathic Artificial Intelligence called "GlaDOS". You got a portal gun which you had to use to solve challenges. It's kind of hard to explain the challenges, but it was great fun and really popular.

The cake bit comes in because your incentive in completing the courses is a promise of cake, a cake which looks like the one in the comic.

You should really check it out. (I just realised how much of a nerd I was typing that D: )
