This is a very good portrait, but due to the subject matter for the game, I think you should make him look a little more manga-ish to fit the theme of the game. Also I love the artwork for the bow and the clothes for the ranger look superb. Also he doesn't seem too happy to be fighting monsters and he looks a little down. It's not the Luneth I remember in Final Fantasy 3, but this portrait is still grade A top notch. I also think you made it how you want which is cool, I just think due to the game he should have looked more manga, but that's only MY opinion. Other people have other opinions on the subjection of the art.

Thanks for your kind words. As for this 'realistic' look, well, it was intended. I hate manga style with all my heart. I don't want to offend anyone and this is only my personal opinion, but I think manga is awful and lacks in uniqueness. Every manga character looks the same - they're ugly, deformed clones with big eyes and strange expressions. There's no artist's creativity in these drawings.
I know FF3 has this cartoonish look. Most artists (or should I say: all) obediently follow these rules, but I don't want to be one of them. My goal is to draw (someday) FF3 heroes as realistic as possible. I want them to look like living, breathing humans, not identical mannequins.
What irony, realistic drawings as a sign of stepping out the line. Who'd have thought?
As for Luneth not being happy, you're right. Probably he's dissatisfied with fighting as (boring) Ranger. I suppose he would rather be Warrior, Dragoon or other cool profession.

Yeah I was 99% sure you intended for that to look the way it did. I respect the fact that you went with a more non-mangaish type face of Luneth. And I agree that there really isn't any originality in manga-ish type drawings. Being said that and with the game type manga-ish is kind of like a religion to they style due to how the game is made. But going outside your religion style paid off in a good way. Looks very good. Also my last party before I killed Cloud of Darkness which is sort of the noob's party is...Luneth (Dragoon), Arc (Magus), Reina (Devout), Ingus (Ninja). Those are the four jobs I used. As far as an expert party of four white mages or Devouts, pssh yeah right...I wouldn't be able to figure out how to do high damage and critical hits with that party. But I liked how as your progressed your characters would do way too much damage based on how much you used that particular job. Or how much you would heal and how much your Summons would do...(based on luck.)

Fair enough. Due to your style of work it looked intended because you are such a good artist. As for manga, you definetly have a point lol. Most manga on here does look pretty much the same. It's also good that you put Luneth as a ranger which is cool as well and I liked the uniqueness in the picture. Actually at the end I made Luneth a Dragoon, Arc a Magus, Reina a Devout and Agnus a Ninja. I guess you could say I used a pretty balanced party. Some people go Iron Man by using full white mages, but because I've seriously got no time or more like making time to try fighting weak I pick the best party possible with Offensive and both Defensive qualities. Ranger is good with Barrage also.
