Wow! You have a great eye for capturing the colorful, dramatic and unusual. It's hard to say what I like most about this image, but the texture of the narrow street is really cool! The man carrying the paintings add action, color AND a sense of scale to everything in the image. I like your pictures of narrow streets because they evoke a sense of truly ancient history. This street was clearly built when even horses were a rare sight (now THAT'S old!). It's also interesting that the wonderful art on the doors depict winding streets.

ty for this interesting comment. Indeed this part of the city is hundred years old.it was devastated by a earthquake in the 19 century and rebuilt, yet many buildings are still in bad condition and really need a restoration. this street is full of galleries and very toured so it is well kept.

It's a shame that the damaged buildings haven't been restored. I lived in San Francisco, and they didn't bother restoring buildings damaged in the 1906 earthquake - they built new ones instead! There are very few buildings in San Francisco older than 1906, and absolutely no damaged buildings remain. Most of San Francisco was barely sixty years old in 1906, so no one cared if the buildings were replaced. Your city is a different story completely!
