Description
This piece was a wedding gift for friends of the family.

8" x 10" embossed metal and acrylic paint on panel.

These pieces incorporate details of engravings from the 18th and 19th century. They are pressed, line by line, into the soft metal surface, and then paint is applied carefully to bring out the texture. I apply several coats of varnish to seal in the image before antiquing and colouring the surface, and then varnish it all again to protect the piece and bring back the high shine of the metal.
