It's a form of art where you adjust and bend lines to make the curves that form a picture. It's a little hard to explain, but this youtube video [link] shows the program/technique I use pretty well.

Vectoring isn't limited to just MLP, you can vector basically anything you want (cartoons work the best though). And if you're interested, I use a free program called Inkscape [link] . It's pretty simple to use after watching a couple tutorials about it.

I'm not sure about photoshop, but the other program I heard about was Adobe Illustrator. That was too expensive, so I just went with Inkscape. And yes, you can copy and paste any internet picture, and then sort of trace over it.

Okay... But Ijust don't understand, some people vector MLP's but they have places hided ( ears, head...) How to vector that ? :/

Sometimes you just have to improvise, or find another picture to reference as well. So, for example, if an ear was being blocked in the first picture, find a second picture where you can see the ear. Then vector over the ear in the second picture.
