Description What you are looking at right now is the very first weapon of Quicksilver Industries first branch, simply called "Space". It doesn't have to do with space itself, but all weapons that are in any way advanced, futuristic, space-y and overall very clean looking fall under this catagory. I hope you're as excited as I am, because this branch gives me room for a lot of creativity, freedom of design and out-of-the-box thinking. I have a strong feeling this won't be the last weapon you'll see in the "Space" branch of QSI.

The Polecat Advanced Assault Rifle fires SABOT rounds, specially designed to punch through ballistic vests, (light) armor, protective suits and (light) cover. Even though the weapon is three round burst only, the mighty 1000 rounds per minute make up for that. The operator will only feel the recoil once every burst because of the extremely high rate of fire per burst.

Entirely new is the muzzle device. It's both a suppressor and flash hider, combined into one device. Slide the cover forward and the expansion chambers will be sealed, thus dampening the sound of the fired rounds. In the rear mode, the expension chambers will be open and hot gasses can easily escape. This means you can switch between a suppressor and a flash hider on the fly. Think twice before touching the device after sustained fire.

Quicksilver Ind. produces top of the notch firearms made for easy and cheap mass production, while maintaining very high quality. Our firearms will always be fully ambidextrous, two toned, operator-friendly and accessory-friendly.

Oh? Then what do you think is the best designed weapon you made?

Greyhound, Sidewinder and Suricate I'd say.

I hate to cuss next to such a beautiful weapon but this is fucking gorgeous. You've outdone yourself with the idea of a space class of weapons.

Thanks a lot, my friend! My next space weapon is on its way, but due to high pressure at work it's taking way more time than usual.

Glad you like it, mate. Do you have any suggestions for the name?

chikenpotpies In reply to Shockwave9001 [2015-01-06 23:41:53 +0000 UTC]

Well the first time I saw this gun it reminded me of a shark because of the gray and white, the lines on the suppressor looking like gills, and just the whole outline of the gun somewhat resembles a shark to me. So maybe Mako AAR, since they are the fastest shark, which expresses the mighty fire rate of the gun. This is completely my opinion, this is your design and your right to name it whatever you want. And I will respect that. (:

I must admit it, that was probably a better name for it. I don't feel like I should change it anymore, but that would've been a lot better. If you're always this good with names, you should add me on Facebook, perhaps you could help me out with names more often

Thanks, but sorry I don't use facebook. Your naming for the guns are fine. I like how you name them after animals. Next time just think of the gun's characteristics and what animal is similar to it. Can't wait for the next gun! (:

How do you keep getting contact with other folks to help donate parts for your gun designs?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shockwave9001 In reply to AceTriad [2014-11-15 11:49:17 +0000 UTC]

On Flickr, people share the parts they make. Everyone is allowed to use them, as long as proper credit is given.
I too have made a LOT of parts back in the day, but I didn't share them here because I'm afraid I won't be credited here. Nearly everyone on Flickr who uses PMG is in the pimpmygun group. Here I feel like people are all over the place, and I feel like I can't control that. So I chose not to share my parts here, just like a lot of other people.

Great design) can't help myself but seeing this as a standart issue firearm for some kind of big security company with strict rules and color code for almost everything - much like an Ultor company in Saints Row games, for example)

I can see why you would think that, yes. Thank you

Luke-Man [2014-11-13 04:13:09 +0000 UTC]

Three things: 1. This looks great! I get kind of a Vektor CR21 vibe from it. 2. Suppressors already act as flash hiders most of the time, so that shouldn't have to be an added feature. 3. I notice you use a lot of right-handed ejection on your bullpups; have you considered something different and potentially more ambidextrous?
Keep up the good work!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shockwave9001 In reply to Luke-Man [2014-11-13 06:32:06 +0000 UTC]

If you'd read the description, you'd find out that all my weapons are fully ambidextrous I just happen to show the right side only. Reason for that is because they're fully ambidextrous, both sides would look so similar that showing both sides would be kinda... Useles.

I can see why it reminds you of the CR21

And about the suppressor; that's true. But but think of the MPX; it has a huge ass flash hider, but when you place the cover over it, it's a suppressor. I thought why not make that a little more good looking?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Luke-Man In reply to Shockwave9001 [2014-11-15 01:32:06 +0000 UTC]

I see. I read the description regarding it being ambidextrous, but I wasn't sure how it was meant to work. Is there another ejection port on the other side and you can switch ejection, or do you rely on the brass deflector like a Tavor or CR21?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shockwave9001 In reply to Luke-Man [2014-11-15 11:33:22 +0000 UTC]

I imagine it having two ejection ports, just like the AUG. You can switch ejection sides by changing the bolt. The ejection port that isn't in use has a dust cover placed over it.

This looks extraordinarily similar to a suppressed Chinese Type-05 sub machine gun. Was this particular gun an inspiration for this piece? Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shockwave9001 In reply to SuperflyMiceguy [2014-11-13 06:23:17 +0000 UTC]

I honestly don't see the resemblance. The only inspiration for this was the BMCR.
