Description ‘And behold, I looked upon the vast host of the Heavens and saw them enjoined, rank and file, as one in purpose to the glory of their Lords. And I saw at their head stood the Seraphim, the Archangel Mikial standing at the right hand to his Masters as the General of Their army. Praise be to the Lords of Light and exaltation to Their names for Theirs is the glory forever.’

Excerp: The Scrolls of Anon

Since I did the blade of my Fallen Prince, it seems only fair that the General of the Host of Heaven be shown as well. Though it is hard to see, the guard has several chain links engraved around the Phoenix flame set in the center, which mirror Mikial's body tattoos, and, like many of the Seraphim, his weapon draws heavily on the Phoenix theme for design, with the use of the nine tails of the Phoenix as the guard and pommel.

Mikial is the most physically imposing of the Seraphim, standing almost seven and a half feet in height and possessing the physique of a well-toned athlete. His hair is blond, cut short in a soldier’s style with only a single braid that runs down his left temple. His eyes are hard and pragmatic, colored the green of the oceans depths and can be just as stormy. Mikial’s wings are those of an eagle, majestic and noble, and his armor is forged from Mithril edged in gold and engraved with the symbols of all the Lords of Light on the breastplate and surrounded by celestial scripture and design. Unlike his brethren, Mikial wields a Greatsword and his armor is a suit of fully covering plate mail without the helm. Hanging in loops from the shoulder guards, chain mantle, and waist are several small chains of mithril links, which symbolize his honor bound duty to the Lords of Light and to the angelic host. The few times during the ages that Mikial has been seen with a portion of his armor removed, the skin of his body underneath bears the same inscriptions and symbols in dark tattoos as well as images of chains running down his arms, legs, and around his neck.
His demeanor almost lends itself to arrogance in his stoicism, though this borders closely to the sin of pride, and that is not possible among the Seraphim. Fierce and firm are better descriptions for his temperament, as well as his natural role as a commander. There is an edge of pain to his eyes, a remainder from the betrayal of Lusyval, his dearest friend, and from the duty Mikial had to drive the traitor from heaven, and this betrayal has led him to create walls that deflect future attachments. His stance reveals one burdened by the weight of their duty, but determined to see it through to the end. Mikial projects the completely true image of one who would rather be destroyed than to fail in his duty.
The Archangel of the Sword’s first duty is to protect those in his charge. These include the Lords of Light and the angelic host primarily, but also include to a lesser extent the priesthood and the faithful. In this purpose does Mikial arrive on the world, to defend temples from war and destruction, the innocent from slaughter, or to defend against infernal invasion, but this is an infrequent occurrence as the eternal wars against the Betrayer call him to his duty as the General of the Armies of Light more often than not. He is the pinnacle of a paladin’s devotion, and the example held up for these mortal knights to follow. Among these orders, they devote themselves to emulating his example in hopes that they will enter into the Armies of Light as a reward for their service in this life.

Excelsis Deo is the weapon of the Seraphim Mikial, Angel of the Sword, and General of the Armies of Light. It is with this blade that Mikial drove the rebel Lusyval from the heavens and cast him into darkness for all time. Etched faintly down it's length on both sides of the blade are the constellational drawings of all the celestial stars of the heavens, which sparkle like the night sky itself only under the divine light of a Seraphim's halo. It is said that within the stars engraved on the blade shine the souls of the angelic host held under his care and protection. Never has this blade failed him, or been taken from his hand, nor will this ever occur lest the Heavens fall and firmament tremble, heralding the last of all days.

I haven't actually looked at any others. I like to draw swords and shields. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback on them. I'll start posting them soon, right after I get the printer hooked up.

Thanks, The font is called Exocet, I think it's supposed to be an attempt at the Diablo game's font. I figured Angels would go for Gothic block lettering.
