If you want my advice, whenever I do HDR (did you use Photomatix for this?) I find the results look obviously synthetic and overly saturated. I tend to use HDR strictly to expand dynamic range, while trying to keep them as subtle as possible. Anyway if you blend back in 20-30% of one of the original shots with this I think you would like the results. It keeps the high dynamic range but it looks more natural. Just a thought.

Yes, I used Photomatix. I am new to doing HDR and this is my second attempt so I don't know any techniques yet. I don't know how to do the "blend back in 20-30% of one of the original shots" as you suggested. Can I do that using Photomatix?

No, you can't. You have to open the HDR in the GIMP or Photoshop, import one of the original images, align the layers (the HDR and the original image) carefully, set the opacity of the original image to 20-35%, and then click 'flatten image' or 'merge layers' or something similar.
