Cherry dwellers are the smallest race of fey in existence, being so tiny they can- as the name implies- live inside a cherry as though it was a large house. The cherry dwellers carve their home out of the fruit of cherry as well as use it as their only food source. Rather than expel waste, the cherry dwellers emit an enzyme that preserves the cherry and causes parts of it to slowly regrow, ensuring the cherry never rots or runs out of food for them. Because of their size, barely a cm in height most of the time, they're popular pets for fairies since they're the only race of non-insects small enough to be subservient. Fairies have also been known to prank humans with cherry dweller homes, as the enzymes produced to preserve the cherries has horrible side effects to a human. Any human that eats a cherry dweller's home will shrink until they themselves become a cherry dweller. There is no way to reverse this process sadly, and as such the human must forever live their lives as the pet for a fairy. Thankfully some are okay with this change as most fairies treat their cherry dwellers well.
