A 10 year old's reaction to the situation. You really think you'd be the only trainer there, and that you could just battle the gym leader right then and there?I had these ideas for what the pokΓ©mon series would actually be like if it were based in reality; Finally I've gotten around to drawing it!

This reminds me of Hunter x Hunter, and its recurring in-story quote; "The number of those aspiring to become Hunters outnumber the stars in the sky...", or something like that.

Pokecenters would be the size of hospitals and those 3-4 trainers you battle before the leader? There would be dozens of them to weed out the weak. Or maybe they'd go for appointments made weeks in advance, perhaps with some kind of written exam, which would explain why some gyms are empty the first time you enter the town.

Man, going to one of these "official Nintendo Pokemon tournaments" IRL, I can tell you that the turn out for them is actually a lot scarier, ie it's all full of Poke-furries or cosplay fags or team rocket whores.

But if you think about it Pokemon trainers vary in ages from 7-80years so the line should be like 100x longer since theres only ONE type of gym in a city :[
Then think about the gym leader's pokemon. It needs to fight every single one of those trainers. Thats just pure animal abuse there. And wonder how much they get paid for all this? o3o

but there are waaaaay more gyms than what are in the games and show (More than 8 or whatever, in this specific universe anyway). You just need a specific amount of these badges to be eligible to fight the elite 4.
Well.... I guess they have many pokemon that they use in rotation.

reminds me of when i saw those live action pokeman commercials with kids doing stuff with the raining pokeballs so this is the part that was never shown
